For production-specific checks before requesting comparable quotations, follow the manufacturing supplier prequalification process.
A supplier evidence checklist helps a B2B buyer evaluate whether a proposed supplier can meet a particular requirement. The checklist should connect the quoted scope with current evidence. A broad company presentation or a large folder of unrelated documents does not establish that the proposed order is suitable.
Request evidence for the actual offer
Record the supplier identity, delivery responsibilities and the site or team that will perform the work. Compare the quoted product or service with the requirement. Ask for relevant specifications, examples of comparable work and the controls used to release the agreed output.
Check the scope and date of each document. Record who issued it and what it supports. A certificate, test report or reference should be assessed for its relevance to the quoted product, service or site rather than accepted because it looks authoritative.
Keep gaps and approvals visible
List unanswered questions, unsupported claims and differences from the requirement. Assign responsibility for resolving each gap before approval. Distinguish an accepted exception from an issue that still needs evidence.
Compare shortlisted suppliers against the same criteria and record the reason for the decision. Carry the approved specification, evidence and open conditions into the order or contract review. Update the file when the offer or responsible production team changes.
