Review comparable products, ingredient handling, allergen controls and the process proposed for your recipe. Clarify who owns formulation development and who checks ingredient permissions and claims for the destination market. A supplier's commercial description does not establish that a particular health or nutrition claim is permitted.

Ask how pilot results will be translated into production controls. Define the sensory, physical and packaging checks needed, and agree who arranges shelf-life work. Keep the scope of each study clear: a favorable initial sample does not demonstrate stability throughout the intended distribution period.

Resolve ownership of recipes, tooling, labels and test data before approval. Document change notification, rejected-lot handling and product release authority. Review the evidence with the responsible technical and regulatory staff, then carry the agreed conditions into the manufacturing contract.
