Import compliance determines whether goods can enter the destination and meet the obligations attached to that transaction. The review must cover the actual product, origin, importer and intended use rather than only the customs duty rate.
Identify classification, valuation and origin requirements alongside permits, safety, conformity and labelling rules where applicable. Confirm who acts as importer and who supplies each piece of evidence. Check the current rules before making a market-entry commitment.
Review the specification and documents against the goods that will be shipped. Investigate missing information and changes in formulation or configuration. Keep supplier declarations separate from evidence that has been independently checked.
Assign review and release responsibilities before booking the shipment. Retain records supporting the declaration and respond to corrections through a controlled process. Successful clearance of an earlier shipment does not establish that a changed product meets every current requirement.
