A first order arising from a TR2B enquiry still needs a direct commercial review between the buyer and supplier. The enquiry is an opportunity to establish a requirement; the parties must turn it into an agreed specification, quotation and order before work begins.
Qualify the requirement before quoting
Confirm the buyer's product, quantity, destination and intended use. Ask about missing details that could change the price or lead time. Distinguish a request for information from an authorised purchase and record the business contacts responsible for the next step.
Prepare a quotation that states its assumptions, included work and validity. Agree on samples, approvals and any documents required for delivery. Review the parties and payment instructions through the supplier's normal commercial process rather than relying only on the enquiry channel.
Manage the first delivery carefully
Match the accepted order with the production or fulfilment plan. Identify who can approve a specification change and when the buyer needs progress information. Keep payment milestones and delivery responsibilities clear in the agreed commercial documents.
After receipt, confirm whether the buyer accepted the goods and investigate any discrepancy. Record what helped the enquiry become a workable order and where information was missing. Use that experience to improve the profile and quotation process without presenting one successful sale as a guarantee of future demand.
